MIAMI -- Two straight first-round playoff exits behind them, the Red Sox are off to a happy start in 2018. They’re the first major league team to five wins. It wasn’t pretty and, it took some extra time -- 4 hours, 27 minutes last night -- but the Sox outlasted the Miami Marlins, 4-2 in a 13 sloppy innings, to complete a two-game sweep and take a 5-1 record (first place in the American League East) to Fenway Park for tomorrow's home opener.
